Covid- 19 Emergency Fund round 2 Accepting Applications
Limerick City and County Council and Limerick Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) are inviting applications for funding under the Covid- 19 Emergency Fund round 2.
The Department of Community and Rural Development (DRCD) has launched the second round of the Covid-19 Emergency fund. A national allocation of €1.7m has been made available to assist voluntary and community groups/ organisations in their response to the Covid-19 Pandemic. The allocation for Limerick is €62,071.00
The purpose of the scheme is to assist groups/ organisations to:
- Adapt their services and operations to fit the new Covid-19 reality. Examples of measures supported could be adapting premises to allow for social distancing, offering online activities, providing social supports and friendly calls by phone etc.
- Become more involved in the Government’s Keep Well campaign. The grants are aimed at assisting participation in the campaign, in particular with the three themes: Staying Connected, Switching Off & Being Creative, and Minding Your Mood.
Who can apply?
- Community and voluntary organisations eligible under the fund who provide services to groups that are particularly badly impacted by Covid, such as organisations working with schools supporting disadvantaged pupils and those with special educational needs.
- Community and voluntary organisations eligible under the fund who provide services to other groups requiring additional supports due to Covid such as Mental Health Services, Youth Services, services to Special Needs Groups, Disability Services, Migrant Services, Carers Associations so as they can adapt their services and operations to fit the new Covid-19 reality.

The closing date for receipt of completed applications is close of business on Friday 26th February, 2021. Late applications will not be accepted.
